to write songs: a lifelong project

"Life" gets in the way. This past year has been a whirlwind of one thing after another.. Korea for the first time in 10 years, reuniting/reconciling with my dad, falling in love, getting married, moving my life to Atlanta, Georgia and finally a couple of weeks ago we moved into our first official place as a couple - just the two of us. (We lived with roommates the first 2.5 months trying to find the right spot & save money.) Friends always ask me if I've been working on music and I always tell them the truth: we've been really busy. I've been solidifying work for myself so that we can live a life that is able to hold up "luxuries" like songwriting and singing. John's been a great provider and supporter though. He's been working at Whistle Peaks now as a studio manager, editor, & shooter. We're not rollin' in the dough but God's been so faithful and showing us how He provides His people.

I'm gonna make it a point to share here bits & pieces of songs I'm in the works of. "a song a  day" or taking time to WORK on a song.. per day.. even if it's to tweek old lyrics, revisit a old one, finish one, or start a new one. I'm no guitarist but I know enough to make the base of a song & I just gotta saaaaang. I'm blessed to have amazing musician friends who can definitely make the instrumentation sound awesome lol. And my hubby for sure can experiment and add to it. Just.. blessed.

Just a rough cut of a song I started writing.

Lyrics: They always notice when I close my eyes. Tell me to focus, not knowing I try. It gets harder to hear you. My memory's faint. I'm counting the days 'til I get to see you again.

The room's filled with darkness, Wherever I go. I'm starting to feel like I've got nothing to show.

CHORUS I'm falling asleep next to my guitar, Praying you'll hear me from where you are. I'm falling asleep..
