Some of you may already know me as Jennifer Chung, but after meeting the love of my life earlier this year (2013), I became a Mrs. Song in April! Quite fitting if I may say so myself ;)
I've sung my whole life and through music God has taken me on a journey that only He could write so whimsically and beautifully.
Before Jesus revealed Himself to me, He gave me the gift of song. Through music I was able to cope with a lot of trials in my life and even had a lot of triumphs because of it. I truly believe that God is always stretching us to become better and I've encountered countless amount of gifted souls that have helped shape me. This year (2013) He's given me another tremendous gift of "Song" - Mr. Song, Joules aka John and as a young newlywed there is even more I'm learning!
The intent of this blog is to share music, conversations - songversations! I wanted to create a space where I could full express myself and not just through song but through conversation as well. I want to feature some of my friends and people I look up to that aren't necessarily in the same industry as me through fun interviews via chatting transcripts, e-mails, live video, or sound. I feel extremely privileged to have come across to some amazing people that make a difference in the world with their passions.
India Arie is one of my spiritual/musical favorites. Her music reminds and challenges us to remember the "Heart of the Matter" and her newest album title SongVersation is what inspired me for the title of this blog.
I want to continue to encourage people to think, speak, express, and sing; sing the anthem of your life and what you stand for, what you're going through, & proclaim out loud your dreams. Make them a reality.
I hope I'm able to encourage others with my journey thus far and so forth through this blog.
As a believer, as a human, as a wife, daughter, sister, friend, singer, songwriter, or even a stranger, I hope we can songversate in humility, harmony, and with heart.
