Barkbox December 2013!

firstbarkbox

Look what we got in the mail!

A month ago I ordered a Barkbox for Toby. He's a fierce chewer and John & I would have to constantly buy him toys to keep him occupied & busy. NO ONE wants their puppy finding other things to chew that they shouldn't be putting their teeth on. I decided to try out Barkbox since it was a subscription based box that sends organic new goodies for your pups no matter what their size. You basically just let them know what weight range they are (and you can change their weight if they do get bigger before they send out the next month's package)

I found a coupon online and decided to get the 6 month subscription which comes to $19 a month + free shipping.

You have choices of trying it out like so:

1 month = $29/month 3 months = $24/month 6 months = $19/month 1 year = around $17/month

**FYI you have to pay in full so for example, for 3 months you'd pay $72 up front :)

Another neat thing is that 10% of your purchase goes to support rescue groups!

I already recommended it to a couple of friends when I signed up and looks like they all got different treats so it's really fun to look forward to what you'll be getting in the mail!

P.L.A.Y. Zucchini Toy

Toby loved chewing on this as soon as he saw it. It has a little squeaky and is eco-friendly. It's handmade, has the production standards as infant and children products, and is double-layered AZO-free fabric, double stitching, and stuffing from 100% post-consumer recycled bottles. It's machine washable & also comes with a recipe to make zucchini cupcakes!

Retails for around $9

Hare of the Dog

"A healthy, wheat-free treat with rabbit as the primary ingredient! Add some dandelion and apple - two natural ingredients packed with antioxidants - and you've got a snack that's sure to delight the pickiest of pups. Ingredients proudly sourced and made in the USA."

These treats retail for around $8

Plato

"YUM. Our favorite cominbation of sweet and savory flavors - it's sure to be a hit with your four-legged friend, too! Plato sources and manufactures their treats in Central California, so you know your turkey and cranberries are grown right here in the USA."

These retail for around $9

Wet Noses

"The Wet Noses company hails from the Pacific Northwest: Washington, to be exact! Delightful and scrumptious, their treats are free of corn, wheat, and soy. Did we mention they're organic? What's not to love?!"

Around $2 a treat (originally comes in a package for $8)

Barkworthies

"Made with 100% beef bladder, Barkworthies junior bully sticks are a Barkbox subscriber favorite. Pups find them both long-lasting and delicious! No chemicals or preservatives are used, making them a clear winner over other chews like rawhide."

Retails for around $3!

Overall package would've cost me around $31 so I'm saving at least $12 to try all these neat eco-friendly organic goods so I think it's super worth it. I personally wouldn't be able to afford to pay $$$$$ expensive medical bills if something horrible were to happen to Toby so it's the goal of John and I to keep him in good health!

If you feel like giving it a go, purchase with this link & you'll get $10 off your first Barkbox order! So if you decide to get the 6 month subscription like I did, subtract $10 from that & you're pretty much paying a little over $17 a month for super high quality, safe for your dogs treats! You can also purchase it as a gift to your family/friends for the holidays!
