Hezekiah trusted in, leaned on, and was confident in the Lord, the God of Israel; so that neitehr after him nor before him was any one of all the kings of Judah like him. - 2 Kings 18:5
"A confident person is open to learning, because she knows that her confidence allows her to walk through life's doorways, eager to discover what waits on the other side. She knows that every new unknown is a chance to learn more about herself and unleash her abilities."
I wasn't that fearful of moving my life to Georgia - a completely new territory where I had NO idea what was to come of me, but a great big part of me knew that I was going to be taken care of. John & I don't have all the money in the world, but we do love one another and that is rooted from our ability to receive & acknowledge God's love for us as individuals. I was confident when making my decision but it is definitely the tough times when the world seems darker that the confidence gets withered down.
Meyer suggests that we strengthen our strengths and not put too much focus on our weaknesses. She gave the example of playing the piano and how she is maybe a 3, and if she practiced really hard she could be a 5; whereas as a public speaker she is an 8, and if she really practiced she could be an amazing 10. "So, if I invested my time and effort into this ability, I might just be able to get to a level ten. When you look at it this way, it's easy to see where you need to invest your efforts."
There's a lot of things I'm not so great at, but I will own up to the fact that:
1) I have been blessed musically.
I don't mean this just by skill but God has honestly been gracious to me and my voice has taken me through many adventures. I've been putting it on the back burner and that's something I need to develop more and invest in more by practice my vocals & writing more music.
2) I have a knack at cultivating relationships earnestly.
I'm an extremely sensitive person at fault, but because of my sensitivity, I believe I am sensitive to and for others. I can adapt to others pretty well. Wherever you're from, however old you are, whether you're a female or male, I'll treat you with respect and greet you with a smile that shows you that I do.
Since the devotional suggested I don't focus on my faults, I'll skip that for next time.
But Lord, I do pray that You'll help me further strengthen what You've blessed me with so that I can really fulfill the purpose You have for me. May I be confident in knowing that I am because You are. Everything is all good.
